What is DITO ROAM Mate?

DITO ROAM Mate is DITO’s hassle-free roaming service that gives you affordable options for data, call, and text promo packs when flying out of the country. 

How do I activate the service?

You need to activate the service via the DITO APP to enjoy access to calls, outgoing SMS and data. Incoming SMS is already pre-activated for all mobile prepaid and postpaid subscribers. However, make sure that you have at least P1.00 load or available credit limit when activating the service. 

Follow these steps for easy activation: 
  • Log in to your DITO App. 
  • Click “More” on the dashboard. 
  • Click the “DITO Roaming” icon under the Postpaid Services Menu. 
  • You will be redirected to the DITO Roaming page. 
  • Select your destination and click the “Activate Roaming” tab. 
  • You will receive successful activation notifications via SMS and in-app. 


You can also activate the service using the DITO App Live Chat feature. 

  • Click the “Chat with us icon” under Help & Support. 
  • Click “DITO Roaming Services” from the list of options. 
  • Click “ACTIVATION – Roam On.” 
  • You will receive successful activation notifications via SMS and in-app. 

When should I activate my DITO ROAM Mate?

We highly encourage you to activate your service before leaving the country for a hassle-free experience. However, if you are unable to do so, you may still activate if once you’ve reached your country of destination. You may connect via WiFi and proceed with the roaming activation on the DITO APP. 

If you are a new subscriber, make sure to activate you SIM in the Philippines to enjoy DITO’s services. 

Please note that you will not be able to receive incoming SMS and activate roaming service abroad if your SIM has not yet been activated. 

When I purchase a Data Pack or a Promo, when will the validity of my DITO ROAM Mate service begin?

The validity of your roaming promo will only begin once you have reached your country of destination. However, you may opt to subscribe to any promo before your travel date for a more hassle-free experience.

What would happen to my purchased DITO ROAM Mate Promo if my flight was canceled or rescheduled?

Your promo allocations will remain in your DITO APP wallet. However, you may only use it within six months from the date of your subscription.

Will I know if my unused DITO ROAM Mate Promo has expired already?

Yes. You will receive a pre-expiration reminder and an expiration notification.

What can I expect once I have activated the service?

Upon activation and arrival at your destination, you may start enjoying the following:
  • Receive SMS for FREE. 
  • Receive, make calls, and send outgoing SMS provided that you have enough credit limit to cover the cost of incoming/outgoing calls or outgoing SMS. 
  • If subscribed to a call/SMS promo, enjoy 5 minutes of incoming/outgoing calls + 5 outgoing SMS. 
  • If subscribed to a data pack, use mobile data to access the internet. 

What are the available services of DITO Roaming? 

You may subscribe to the available DITO

  • Roaming Services Bundles: Data Bundles and Call & SMS Bundle 
  • Data Bundles: 100MB for 1 day, 200MB for 3 days, 500MB for 7 days 
  • Call & SMS Bundle: 5 minutes Incoming/Outgoing Calls with 5 SMS, valid for 3 days 

What should I do if I received a notification that I have reached 70%/80%/90% of my credit limit?

You may still continue to use your DITO FLEXPlan while on roaming until you reach 100% of your credit limit. You may want to settle or pay your DITO FLEXPlan to free up your credit limit. You may also request from our DITO Customer Service Agent to increase your credit limit*.

What should I do if I have received a notification that my outgoing service is temporarily disabled?

Your DITO FLEXPlan may have reached the maximum credit limit, or you still have unpaid billing statements that need to settled. Please settle your unpaid charges to continue using DITO Roaming. 

How do I make a payment for my DITO FLEXPlan while on roaming?

You may still use the DITO App to pay for your DITO FLEXPlan. 

I have already settled my payment for my DITO FLEXPlan. When are you going to restore my DITO Roaming service?

Once payment has been made and confirmed by DITO, your DITO Roaming service shall resume within 5 minutes. 

Can I make an advance payment for my DITO FLEXPlan?

Yes, you may choose to pay your DITO FLEXPlan in advance. 

What services can I use abroad if I failed to settle my bill but with an active roaming feature?

You will still be able to receive incoming SMS for free. 

Can I still use the roaming service when traveling to a country that’s not on the list of covered destinations?

No. DITO ROAM Mate can only be enjoyed if you are within a covered country/territory. 

What will happen if I avail DITO ROAM Mate Asia for 7 days and travel to multiple destinations?

  • No need to subscribe to another data pack as long as the countries/territories you are traveling to are within the covered destinations of your data pack.
    Ex. You traveled to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. 
Just make sure that your subscription is still valid and that you still have remaining data. 
  • If you are traveling to a country that is not covered in your data pack, then you need to subscribe to a new promo.
    Ex. You traveled from Singapore to Japan. 

Can I enjoy the inclusions of my DITO Level-Up Pack when traveling abroad?

No. Local promos like DITO Level-Up pack will not be available for use while you are in another country/territory. However, the validity of the promos will remain the same. If you local promo expires while you are abroad, then you will no longer be able to use it when you return to the Philippines. 

Can I enjoy the inclusions of my DITO FLEXPlan when traveling abroad?

No. the inclusions of your DITO FLEXPlan will not be available for use while you are in another country/territory. However, the validity of the promos will remain the same. If your DITO FLEXPlan inclusions expire while you are abroad, then you will no longer be able to use it when you return to the Philippines. 

Are there any additional charges when activating the roaming service?

None.

Can I enjoy 5G signal at my destination when subscribed to a data pack?

No. As of now, access is limited to 4G for roaming data. 

Who can I contact if I have concerns while I’m abroad?

Can I call any hotline in the Philippines while I’m abroad?

Yes, but you will be charged the standard roaming rate per minute. 

How fast can you resolve the issues of my DITO FLEXPlan service while on roaming?

Resolution time shall be within 24-48 hours and may be extended depending on the reported issue and time zones. 

How do I call? Do I need to use a prefix?

Always use the country code of the country you are calling to ensure that you are connected to the correct country  

Ex. if you are calling the Philippines from Hong Kong, make sure that the country prefix used is +63. 

What should be my phone’s APN setting when roaming?

Make sure that the APN setting is set to internet.dito.ph

How will the Subscriber know their usage?

  • Data Usage: SMS and In-App Notifications will be sent at 80% and 100% usage. Subscriber may also view their data meter in the DITO App. 
  • Calls & SMS Promo: SMS and In-App Notifications will be sent at 80% and 100% usage. 
  • Calls or SMS using Standard Rates: SMS Notifications will be sent after each call on the remaining balance after the call 

Can the Subscriber subscribe to multiple roaming promos?

Yes. Separate meters per roaming will appear on their DITO App. 

What are the standard Roaming Rates?

How long will it take to activate international roaming?

Activation will be real-time. You may activate the service while still in the Philippines, or even when you are already abroad. However, we suggest that activation be done before you leave the country to ensure seamless connectivity. 

Do I need to deactivate the service upon my return to the Philippines?

No, this is not required.
