DITO Telecommunity, the fastest-growing telecommunications provider in the country, introduced new AI features for its SIM Card Registration (SRA) process, allowing a more seamless and efficient SIM registration to all its subscribers.

Following the implementing rules and regulations of Republic Act 11934 or SIM
Registration Act (SRA), DITO enhanced its pre-validation process by adding the
following features in the DITO App:

1. Face Liveness- involves taking photos with blinking eyes, open mouth, shaking head etc.

2. Live Selfie- snapping a live face photo to compare whether it is consistent with the uploaded ID photo.

3. Optical Character Recognition (OCR)- allows the system to extract ID photo
information.

4. Facial Recognition and Matching- conduct face comparisons between the live and ID photos based on the ArchFace model and 512 dimensional features. If the similarity is beyond 80%, the system would regard that the two photos are matched.

These enhancements further validate DITO’s commitment to a fast and easy SIM
registration process to help registrants.
