DITO WINS GOLD ANVIL AWARD
2 May 2023One of the fastest-growing telco providers in the country, DITO Telecommunity, recently won the Gold Anvil Award under the specialized public relations (PR) program – advocacy campaign for its Galing DITO nationwide campaign.
Anvil, the Oscars of public relations in the country, recognized DITO's creative execution of the Galing DITO digital campaign which celebrated and championed up-and-coming local artists and Philippine tourism.
This award is a big milestone for DITO given the company’s relatively young age in the industry.
“ We feel blessed and grateful for receiving this award from Anvil. This award is not just for us, but we also dedicate this to our millions of subscribers and to all those talents and local artists who showcased their creativity through our Galing DITO campaign,” said Jasper Evangelista, DITO Telecommunity Brand & Marketing Director.
In line with DITO’s commitment to weaving telecommunities together, the Galing DITO movement with the tagline “Ipakita ang GALING, saan man GALING!” was launched on the 124th Philippine Independence Day. The campaign started as a music video celebrating homegrown, up-and-coming Filipino talents all over the nation which featured 13 local artists like singer Marga Jayy, rapper February Bank, dance group Femme Manila, the Buganda Drum Beaters, Ilocos-based rapper Fairy Flojo, Cebu-based rapper Cookie$ and P-Pop boy group 13C and many more. In just a month, the music video garnered 53 million views, 66 million reach, and 345 million impressions– all surpassing the target metrics.
The campaign celebrated more galing with the #GalingDITO TikTok Challenge which showcased the talents of millions of DITOzens nationwide whether dancing, singing, or rapping. As a result, the #GalingDITO hashtag garnered over 611 million hashtag challenge views and over 2K entries nationwide!
The Galing DITO campaign was further amplified online and on-ground with livestreams, collaboration with KOLs from all over the country, and activations in different provinces to give an avenue for Pinoys to showcase their galing, saan man galing.
“We are happy and proud that the Galing DITO movement was a success. As a telecommunity that’s committed to championing Filipino skills and talents, our journey to encouraging and empowering more Filipinos to unleash their passion continues,” said Evelyn Jimenez, DITO Chief Commercial Officer.
Presented annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the Anvil is the symbol of excellence in public relations. It is awarded to outstanding public relations programs, tools, and, now, practitioners after careful screening by select PR professionals and judging by a distinguished multi-sectoral jury.
