DITO Taps Adventenergy

AdventEnergy, the retail electricity arm of AboitizPower, has partnered with DITO Telecommunity to supply power to 1,642 cell towers across Luzon under the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) Retail Aggregation Program (RAP).

The partnership represents an aggregated demand of 13.8 megawatts (MW) covering facilities in Greater Manila, South Luzon, and North Luzon. By consolidating energy requirements under RAP, DITO aims to optimize electricity costs, improve power reliability, and reinvest savings into network expansion for its growing 15-million-strong subscriber base.

DITO President and Chief Executive Officer Ernesto “Eric” Alberto said the collaboration underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable and reliable digital connectivity. “This is an investment that will keep millions of Filipinos connected, informed, and empowered in today’s fast-paced digital world,” he said.

AdventEnergy President James Yu described the partnership as a milestone that demonstrates the value of smarter energy solutions in supporting critical infrastructure. “Through our ‘Always-on Innovation’ philosophy, we aim to empower partners like DITO to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital economy—reliably and at scale,” Yu said.

Aboitiz Group President and CEO Sabin Aboitiz said the partnership aligns with the group’s mission of advancing business sustainability through collaboration and innovation. “This strengthens our portfolio of partnerships that drive progress and innovation across industries,” he said.

DITO Chief Revenue Officer Atty. Adel Tamano added that energy partnerships such as this are essential to maintaining reliable connectivity while promoting responsible energy use. “This alliance allows us to deliver digital services that improve everyday life while caring for our environment and future generations,” he said.

The Retail Aggregation Program allows businesses with multiple facilities located in contiguous areas to combine their electricity demand to meet the 500-kilowatt threshold required to participate in the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM). AdventEnergy said it continues to support RAP as part of its efforts to expand access to competitive, efficient, and sustainable power solutions.

How can strategic energy partnerships between utilities and telecom companies help accelerate the Philippines’ digital transformation while promoting sustainability?
