DITO Telecommunity, the country's newest and fastest-growing telecommunications provider, has recently secured five accolades at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, the awards program focusing on recognizing business innovation throughout the region. This recognition was announced in April on the Stevie Awards’ official website.

The five awards received by DITO are:

Gold Stevie Winner: Innovation in General Information Websites 

The company received another Gold Stevie Award for Innovation in General Information Websites. This award recognizes DITO’s commitment to making their website as adaptable, flexible, and innovative as possible for the benefit of their users and visitors.

Design-wise, the website showcases DITO’s colors: red, blue, yellow, and white. These are the same colors used in the Philippine flag, symbolizing DITO as a proud Pinoy brand. The website also features quick links that make navigating and visiting the web page easier with just a few clicks.

Beyond design, DITO’s website is filled with informative and engaging content. It contains everything you want to know about DITO, including their products and services. Users simply have to visit the pages dedicated to specific products or services or check the FAQ section.

Gold Stevie Winner: Most Innovative TikTok Channel 

DITO received a Gold Stevie Award as the Most Innovative TikTok Channel. Their posts on the platform creatively connect with a younger audience, mainly because they leverage engaging content formats and popular background sounds and trends.

At the moment, DITO’s TikTok account has over 500,000 followers and over 3.1 million likes. Their posts regularly get thousands of views, some reaching millions.

DITO recently launched the #GalingDITO campaign, which contributed to the popularity of their posts on TikTok. The campaign aims to promote and celebrate Filipino talents from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Silver Stevie Winner: Innovation in the Use of Social Media 

DITO is also a Silver Stevie Winner for Innovation in the Use of Social Media. This is one of their three silver awards, showcasing the unique way they make use of different social media platforms not just to increase awareness about their products and services but also to promote noble causes.

Their TikTok account is used for their #GalingDITO campaign, which showcases young talents from different cultures and regions in the country. Their Facebook, meanwhile, can be used to engage directly with their subscribers. Even as the newest player in the Philippines’ telecommunications field, DITO managed to clinch millions of customers and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with more established telco giants. This is thanks to their adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance their network performance.

Currently, the company provides users access to the fifth-generation mobile technology, otherwise known as 5G. It is a high-speed network available in selected cities and provinces nationwide. DITO’s 5G network's average speed is 55Mbps, with about 80% reliability. This speed is fast enough to prevent users from experiencing lags and delays while performing heavy online activities, like attending video conferences, doing live-streaming sessions, and playing high-definition movies.

 

The 11th Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards

The 11th Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards is a major recognition program for businesses across the region. Organized by the Stevie Awards, this prestigious event honors innovation and excellence in various categories, including marketing, customer service, technology, and corporate social responsibility.

The Stevie Awards was established in 2002, and their first awards program was held in 2003. Their name comes from “Stephen,” which is derived from a Greek term that means “crowned.” Winners of the Gold Stevie Awards typically receive a 16-inch tall trophy made of 24-karat gold, as well as the exclusive right to use the special Gold Stevie Award logo. Those who receive Silver and Bronze Stevie Awards get silver and bronze medals, respectively, as well as the right to display Stevie Awards logos. They are also given the chance to purchase the trophy.

For any business or organization, winning a Stevie Award is no small feat, especially with the number of nominees submitted to the body every year. Entries undergo a rigorous judging process by industry experts to ensure credibility and fairness. DITO is among the few companies in the Philippines that received two Gold Stevie Awards this year.

The list of awardees was released in April. Furthermore, the Stevie Awards Banquet was held on May 24, 2024, at Shangri-La The Fort Hotel in Manila.
