DITO Telecommunity has announced the commercial deployment of Silent Network Authentication (SNA) in the Philippines through its partnership with Twilio and Shush, marking a significant step in advancing secure digital services in the country. The solution enables platforms to verify users directly through the mobile network, reducing reliance on traditional methods such as SMS one-time passwords (OTPs). The deployment was showcased at Mobile World Congress 2026, highlighting DITO’s role in bringing next-generation authentication capabilities to market.
Silent Network Authentication allows for seamless, automatic verification without the need for manual code entry, helping strengthen protection against fraud and SIM-swap attacks. Powered by secure network APIs, the solution enables enterprises across banking, fintech, and digital platforms to access carrier-level authentication services that enhance both security and user experience. This initiative reflects DITO’s continued commitment to supporting the country’s cybersecurity efforts by enabling safer, more reliable digital interactions for Filipino communities and businesses.
“This will mark the first implementation of its kind by a telecommunications operator in the country. This initiative reflects DITO’s continued efforts to strengthen digital security while supporting the growing demand for safer online services.”
“Tamano said the company is working closely with partners in the financial sector and across the digital ecosystem. He said the goal is to ensure that DITO becomes recognized as the most secure SIM in the Philippines for mobile banking and digital services.”
“With Silent Network Authentication, verification happens directly through the DITO mobile network. This represents a major step forward in protecting subscribers and securing mobile transactions.”
